The Emerald Laser uses ten low-level green lasers (532 nm) to temporarily create microscopic pores in enlarged fat cells (hypertrophic adipocytes). This allows the stored fatty contents to move into the surrounding tissue, where they are naturally transported through the body's lymphatic system and processed as part of normal physiological function.

Yes. The Erchonia® Emerald Laser is entered in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG 395892) as a Class IIa medical device for non-invasive dermatological aesthetic treatment for the reduction of body circumference in individuals with a BMI of up to 40 kg/m². It is also FDA-cleared in the United States for overall body circumference reduction.

Emerald Laser treatment is comfortable, non-invasive and does not involve needles, surgery, heat or freezing.

Most clients simply relax during treatment. The laser does not produce heat, so there is typically little to no sensation while the laser is being applied.

Emerald Laser requires no planned downtime. Clients can generally return to work and their usual daily activities following treatment.

The Emerald Laser can be used on common treatment areas including the abdomen, waist, hips, thighs and upper arms. Your technician will discuss the most appropriate treatment areas based on your goals.

The number of treatments varies depending on your goals. During your consultation, your technician will recommend a personalised treatment plan designed for you.

Everyone responds differently. Progress is monitored throughout your treatment journey using Styku 3D body scans and body measurements to help track changes over time.

Rather than freezing, heating or destroying fat cells, the Emerald Laser uses Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) to temporarily create microscopic pores in the membranes of enlarged fat cells. This allows some of the stored fatty contents to be released into the surrounding tissue, helping the cells become smaller while remaining intact.

Although destroying fat cells may sound preferable, it is not necessary for body circumference reduction. Fat cells perform a normal role in storing and releasing energy, and the Emerald Laser is designed to influence this process without deliberately damaging the cells or surrounding tissue.

Once released, the fatty contents are transported through the body’s natural lymphatic and metabolic pathways, where they are processed in the same way the body ordinarily manages fats.

Emerald Laser is indicated for non-invasive body circumference reduction rather than a specific amount of weight loss. Many clients choose Emerald as part of their broader body contouring or weight-management goals.
